Malaika Arora to Iqra Aziz: Three ways to style monochrome pantsuits

The last couple of years have been all about the mighty pantsuit! The actors have been donning it over the last few years. Prominently, women in fashion and entertainment have been donning (and nailing) suits.

According to the global fashion search platform Lyst, which recently released its annual Year in Fashion report, suits were also one of the five biggest trends influenced by celebrities in 2018, with searches for women’s suits up by 87% year on year. Since 2018, there has been a rise in the trend – one that we only hope to see more of.

Monochrome seemed to be the personal favourite for some divas. Here we take a look at some of the most memorable celebrities takes on the power suit.

Victoria Beckham with button-up shirt in 2013

It was back to business as usual for the Spice Girl turned fashion mogul, as she teamed a sharp black suit with her trademark pout at the launch of her Autumn/Winter 2013 collection in Beijing, China.

Slender Posh was immaculate in the monochrome outfit, which she teamed with black stilettos and a sleek updo. The mother-of-four wore a silky white top with a plunging neckline beneath the slim-fitting suit and carried a neat black leather clutch bag. Her only other accessories were a chunky ring and that familiar solemn expression.

Malaika Arora in a bralette in 2018:

Malaika wore a pantsuit with a black bralette and coupled it with a pair of heels. The outfit seems to be the one she donned for Natasha Poonawalla’s bash, held to celebrate the wedding of lovebirds Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja. Her silver, leopard skin-print pantsuit was by Falguni and Shane Peacock.

Malaika had paired her flawless ensemble with a pair of black Louis Vuitton heels and a Saint Laurent sling bag in red. With her long hair kept unruly by her side and nude lips, Malaika was truly the picture of perfection.

Iqra Aziz in high-neck tee in 2020:

The Jhooti star opted for an intricately printed black and white suit for a recent event. Styled by Alishey Adnan, Iqra donned a suit by Bisma Akbar with a plain black tee and chunky white heels. The actor kept her makeup simple, with sleek hair.

For jewellery, she layered it up with few lockets. Iqra kept her look simple yet chic.
